Final Devotion Intercessory Prayer

Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.

Generous God, we give you thanks for this day, for each person here, for Borderlinks and Western Theological Seminary. We are grateful for abundant food, the challenges of the past week, and for new friends.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
Creator of all things, your universe is full of beauty: the colors of a desert sunset, jagged stone mountains, the faces of those we meet. Teach us to be good stewards of creation by recycling, being conscious of our use of water, electricity, and all precious resources. Help us to move gently over this earth.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
God who is everywhere, we lift up to your care the faithful people we have met, people who are working to bring your compassionate realm into this world: Delle, Sara, Mike, Brandon, Kat, Kiko, Danielle, Esther, Enrique, the Padre in Altar, Mark, Esteban, Raoul, Brian, Pancho, John, Lauren, Theresa, Jorge, and all the others we name now aloud and in our hearts. . .
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
God whose world has no borders, come into the Sonora desert and strengthen those who seek to cross its dangers: Daniel, Diego, Jose and the others in Altar, all those who see no hope for life in Mexico. Keep them safe tonight.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
God of justice, bind your people together to care for the ones who suffer. Shine a light on those at Borderlinks, at the Casa, and No More Deaths, Grupo Beta, EnComun, CCAMYN, Frontera Cristo, Humane Borders, CAME, CRREDA, DouglaPrietaWorks, Just Coffee, and Casa Maria. Strengthen us all to work against the powers of this world that enslave your children.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
Compassionate God, we join our voices, asking for your forgiveness for our sometimes thoughtless actions of privilege. Forgive us when we demand things we feel we deserve, make us truly thankful for our calls, our health, our families, and all that you bless us with.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
God, we are a small group of people tired and filled with overwhelming new information. Bring clarity to our thinking, compassion to our actions, and courage to our words. Make us servants of your realm in all we do.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
We ask all these things in the name of Jesus the Christ,
Amen.
Ruth
